Motivation and fighting spirit
The tobacco and nicotine cessation course is designed as a group course, as our experience shows that this format boosts both motivation and “fighting spirit.”
Participants feel that they are part of a group where their efforts matter—both for themselves and for the other participants. Evaluations show that participants often highlight the sense of community, the group, and the opportunity to share experiences as one of the most valuable aspects of the program.
The program covers topics such as motivation, the health benefits of quitting smoking, smoking habits, withdrawal symptoms, distraction techniques, nicotine dependence, psychological dependence, the use of aids, and managing any weight-related challenges after quitting.
At each session, we offer a carbon monoxide test—the only immediate measurement that concretely shows smokers the positive effects of quitting on the body.
